Public First moved to unseal exhibits submitted by Albert Ian Schweitzer and the Hawai`i County Prosecuting Attorney in connection with Schweitzer’s request for a declaration of actual innocence concerning crimes against Dana Ireland in the 1990s.  Schweitzer submitted under seal a DNA report connecting the crimes to another person (with a version filed publicly that redacted only the other person’s name).  The prosecuting attorney submitted under seal a police interview report from 2000 in an effort to raise questions regarding Schweitzer’s innocence.  The case is pending before the Honorable Peter Kubota.  No. 3CSP-23-3.
