After a litigant in federal court alleged that the Honolulu Police Department maintained a Brady list, the Law Center made a request for the list and learned that no such list exists. On July 1, 2022, the Law Center made a request instead for documentation that identifies “HPD officers that were suspended or discharged after HPD sustained charges of misconduct that reflect on the credibility of the officer including but not limited to findings of untruthfulness, falsification of records, failure to respond truthfully when testifying, or commission of any criminal acts” from 2013 to present. HPD provided three spreadsheets. An “x” in Column D indicates whether the officer is still employed by HPD as of August 2022.
